ABOUT FOLD KIDS BOOK FEST

In 2019, the Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) launched a fall festival dedicated to supporting young readers—connecting children, teens, and educators with a wide range of exceptional Canadian children’s book authors, storytellers, and illustrators.

Since then, FOLD Kids Book Fest has grown into an annual celebration featuring virtual and in-person events that engage young readers, inspire future writers, and equip educators with helpful insights and practical resources.

In 2025, the festival will feature:

  • Virtual events for classrooms and educators: November 4–6
  • In-person events in Brampton, Ontario: November 6–9

Passholders can register and watch on-demand content until December 9, 2025 with a standard Virtual Pass and until June 30, 2026 with a Virtual Plus Pass.

In-person events will take place November 6-9. While most of the in-person events are free, pre-registration is encouraged for some events.
To attend events in our Virtual Clubhouse, attendees need to purchase a virtual pass. While most of the in-person events are free registration is encouraged for some events.
Most in-person events are free, but registration is required for some events to ensure proper and safe seating.
In addition to our weekend events, FOLD Kids Book Fest will host an in-person field trip event at Chinguacousy Secondary School on Friday, November 7. To book tickets, please click here.
An Individual Virtual Pass costs $35 and allows you to access our Virtual Clubhouse for a month after the live festival dates. It includes an interactive scavenger hunt, resources, exhibitors, live events, on-demand events and more.

New this year is the Individual Virtual Pass Plus which costs $50 and grants access to the Virtual Clubhouse until June 30, 2026.

For group tickets for five or more, email the FOLD for bulk pass rates. Some boards are purchasing a board pass, which allows teachers to register, free of charge, with their board-assigned code. Click here, to see the full list of school boards who have purchased passes.
For bulk orders, email FOLD’s Executive Director, Jael Richardson, at director@thefoldcanada.org.
Virtual passholders get access to our Virtual Clubhouse, which includes an auditorium featuring more than twenty virtual events especially designed for educators and students Kindergarten to Grade 12. The Clubhouse also includes an Exhibit Hall with exclusive access to book publishers and resources, and a customized resource room for additional support material. All virtual passholders will receive a festival book list and will have access to an educator resource guide, which provides pre- and post-event activities.

Most of our virtual events are initially offered live – meaning they become available on a specific day at a specific time and include the opportunity to chat live with other attendees, the hosts, and the authors. On-demand events are events that are pre-recorded and will be available as soon as the Clubhouse opens. All virtual events can be watched and re-watched as on-demand events until December 9 with a standard virtual pass.
